From January 22-24, the American AHR Expo 2024 was held in Chicago's McCormick Place exhibition center. The event attracted over 1,800 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors, living up to its reputation as one of the world's largest refrigeration exhibitions.
All business units of SANHUA HVAC&R were present, showcasing innovative and interesting offerings. North America is undoubtedly Sanhua's largest overseas market, with the company firmly occupying the leading market share in line components, micro-channel heat exchangers, and variable speed driver due to its years of meticulous cultivation.
2024 marks the transitional year ahead of the full implementation of A2L refrigerants in the US market in 2025. In the A/C&Heat pump industry refrigeration and heating sectors, R454B and R32 have divided into two Groups, while R513A is expected to replace R134a in the heat pump water heater field. In commercial refrigeration, supermarket chain brands are promoting to adapt low-GWP refrigerants, with Aldi committing to a full transition to CO2 refrigerants by 2030.
The refrigerant trend is clear, and how to achieve this from a component perspective was demonstrated by Sanhua at the exhibition.
Sanhua presented RFGF thermostatic expansion valves for R454B and R32, A2L refrigerant leak sensors, EBV safety shut-off valves, SD2 variable speed driver, and more.
Micro-channel heat exchangers continue to show its advantage in reducing A2L refrigerant charges, while BPHE is known for boast lower refrigerant charges and higher efficiency, attracting great attention at their North American market debut.
CO2 products cover almost the whole table, but far more than that, Sanhua promises to launch numerous new CO2 products in 2024, giving great confidence to the industry. Full solution for normal products are standard operation, but Sanhua aims to provide full solution and system solutions for CO2 systems.
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of SANHUA founding, and we will celebrate with employees and customers around the world throughout the year. As the first big public event of the year, the AHR refrigeration exhibition kicked off the 40th anniversary celebrations. At 4:00 pm, the celebration party began with the sound of a violin, and Sanhua joined the guests in raising a glass to celebrate and chatting about SANHUA@North America, with the atmosphere of the scene reaching its climax.
In 2007, Sanhua acquired the four-way reversing valve business of Ranco, a renowned company in the refrigeration valve industry, which opened the doors to the American market. Over the following years, leveraging its strong overall resources and innovative capabilities, Sanhua excelled in refining the four-way reversing valve products to perfection, establishing its market dominance as the world leader. During this process, Sanhua took the initiative to expand its presence in the US market by actively utilizing the Sanhua brand instead of the Ranco brand. This decision not only exemplified their unwavering confidence in the Sanhua brand but also demonstrated the recognition of the Sanhua brand in the US market. As a result, Sanhua has now become one of the most influential brands in North America.
Sanhua got full membership at AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) in the United States, serving as the member of the board (the only Chinese company) and as the chairman of the valve standards committee.

Leveraging its production base in Mexico, SANHUA has achieved localization of manufacturing in North America. By 2024, SANHUA Mexico aims to achieve complete localization coverage across all business units, including refrigeration valves, controllers, microchannel heat exchangers, sub-assembly, and automotive parts. This localization effort will further strengthen its service capabilities in the region.
