From May 19 to 21, the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) held its 2025 Policy Symposium in Washington, D.C. As a key platform for global HVAC industry dialogue, the symposium featured in-depth discussions on topics such as energy policy and environmental regulations. Sanhua was represented by Dr. Lin-jie Huang, Chief Scientist of Sanhua Holding Group; Dr. Qiang Gao, Vice President of Sanhua Research Institute; and Mr. Alex Wang, Global Marketing Director of Sanhua Commercial Division.
During the summit, participants explored the latest developments in U.S. energy and environmental policy. On the first day, policy consultants shared their insights on the current regulatory landscape and future trends, helping companies better understand the logic and priorities behind regulatory decision-making.
As a key part of the symposium, Sanhua representatives joined the Capitol Hill visits organized by AHRI. They held in-depth discussions with several members of Congress and their staff on topics such as refrigerant alternatives, energy efficiency incentive mechanisms, and tariff policies. Sanhua advocated for the continuation of regulatory policy directions and actively voiced support for a stable, predictable, and consistent trade environment.
As a member of AHRI’s Unitary and Refrigeration Sector Council Leadership, Sanhua actively contributed to discussions on refrigerant policy, regulatory updates, and sustainable development pathways. The meetings also included updates on the progress of Product Category Rules (PCR) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) initiatives.
Through this symposium, Sanhua deepened its understanding of policy trends and standards frameworks in the North American HVAC&R industry, providing strong support for future product strategies and R&D efforts.
Sanhua remains committed to delivering efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly products and solutions to customers worldwide. Looking ahead, the company will continue to monitor relevant policy developments, focus on sustainable, low-carbon growth, and create long-term value for both customers and the industry.
